Takrags are ideal for sanding dust removal on wood as they do not leave any residue on the cleaned surface. Cloths soaked in water when used on wood make the grain rise and lead to additional sanding. Cloths soaked in mineral spirits cause unwanted absorption of the spirit into the wood. But takrags are coated in a sticky wax that doesnt leave any residue on the wood and efficiently removes sanding dust.
