SmartCare DampProof ULTRA 20L

Asian Paints SmartCare DampProof Ultra is an excellent waterproof coating for exterior surfaces. SmartCare DampProof Ultra is a fiber reinforced elastomeric liquid applied water proofing membrane with PU hybrid polymers and acrylic reinforcement fibers. The fibers in DampProof Ultra form a reinforcing mesh for the PU hybrid polymer to form a tough, durable, seamless, thick waterproof membrane upon curing. The membrane thus formed offers ultimate waterproofing for terraces, balconies, chajja, exterior vertical walls and other exterior surfaces. DampProof Ultra also has the dual advantage of heat proofing the surface it is applied on.

COVERAGE 

• Horizontal Surfaces (1 Self priming coat + 2 Coats): 10 sq.ft/ltr 
• Vertical Surfaces (1 Self priming coat + 1 Coat): 25sq.ft/ltr for Fresh Painting, 40sq.ft/ltr for Repainting

RECOMMENDED USAGE

Can be used for building roofs, terraces, parapet, sunshades and exterior vertical walls. It can also be applied on existing IPS, sound brick-bat coba or cementitious waterproofing.

SURFACE PREPARATION

PLASTER New masonary surfaces must be allowed to cure completely. It is recommended to allow 28 days as the curing time for new masonary surfaces.

CLEANING Surface should be free from any loose paint, dust or grease. Remove all existing bitumen coatings completely. It is recommended to use intense wire brushing or high speed water jet for thorough cleaning.

REPAIRING The substrate must be checked for its soundness using small hammer. All cracks at corner joints, channels and parapets should be properly treated.

FILLING FOR CRACKS For filling cracks upto 3mm use Asian Paints Crack Seal. Bigger cracks, damaged portions and hollow areas must be repaired with polymer modified cement mortars.

Application Description

For Horizontal surfaces

1. Apply a first self priming coat of SmartCare Damp Proof Ultra, by diluting with 33% of water.
2. Allow to dry between coat 4-6 hours
3. Apply first waterproofing coat without any dilution. Allow to dry 4-6 hours.
4. Apply the second waterproofing coat without any dilution in a perpendicular direction to the first.

For Vertical surfaces

1. Apply a first self priming coat of SmartCare Damp Proof Ultra, by diluting with 33% of water.
2. Allow to dry between coat 4-6 hours
3. Apply first waterproofing coat without any dilution. Allow to dry 4-6 hours.
4. Apply top coat paint with the recommended system.

Application can be done using a brush or a roller.

PRECAUTIONS

• Do not apply during rains or extreme temperatures.
• Avoid abuses which may lead to puncturing of membrane.
• Ensure that the product is applied at least 6 inches inside the drain pipe.
• For best results, apply parapet to parapet to envelope the entire building.
