MRF TeraFix 4L

MRF TeraFix is a high performance solvent based water repellant primer for terraces. MRF TeraFix when applied on its own is also a highly effective water proof coating on cement terraces, concrete and other porous substrates. For the purpose of waterproofing, it is recommened to apply 2 coats of the MRF TeraFix. The product can also be used as an under coat for application of MRF Aquafresh Cool roof coating. MRF TeraFix has excellent binding to the surface and also bonds well with the MRF Aquafresh Cool, thus providing an excellent base for the application of MRF Aquafresh Cool. This is a high performance product that is extremely durable and provides long lasting protection to your terraces and chajjas.

Method of Application

Surface Preparation

• Ensure that the surface to be coated is clean and free from oil, grease ,dirt and other contamination
• Clean thoroughly using a wire brush and then scuff the surface using#SandPaper 80. Ensure that no loose particles are sticking to the surface to be coated
• Freshly plastered surface must be allowed to cure completely. The coating process can be started after a minimum period of 30 days
• Do not apply if the surface is damp or when the humidity high
• Completely remove existing coating, if any to ensure direct adhesion of TeraFix to the surface
• Damaged surface should be rectified before applicationof TeraFix

Application Proecedure

• Mix the material thoroughly prior to application.
• Apply one coat of TERAFIX diluted with 5% Thinner 555 for regular terrace surfaces. For uneven / highly porous surfaces apply 2 coats of TERAFIX diluted with 5% Thinner 555 with an interval of 6 - 8 hours between each coat. Sanding of the first coat shall be done using # 220 Sandpaper.
• Apply 2 coats of Aquafresh Cool with an interval of 4 to 5 hours between subsequent coats after subjecting TERAFIX to sanding using # 220 Sandpaper.
• After completion, allow curing for a minimum period of 72 hrs

• Recommended Thinner : MRF Thinner 555
• Thinner intake : 5% by volume
• Coverage : 60 - 80 Sqft per litre per coat depending on the porosity of the substrate
• Application Procedure : Brush / Roll

Limitations

• Surface Preparation and Application to be carried out as recommended.
• Application of Terafix to be done completely without leaving any free space in the terrace surface / parapet.
• Cracked, damaged or overly porous surface to be fixed before coating the terrace surface/parapet with TeraFix Terrace Primer.
• Proper care should be taken to maintain a clean terrace. Water logging to be avoided.
• Ensure proper waterproofing on vertical walls to avoid water seepages.
