MRF Zameen 2K PU High Endurance Floor Coating Paint 1L

MRF Zameen is a high quality, high endurance, 2-component polyurethane floor paint. It has excellent abrasion resistance, low dirt pickup and excellent bonding to flooring materials such as concrete floors, cement plastered floors, cement pavers, clay pavers and other porous substrates. MRF Zameen protects the floor from extreme climatic conditions such as rain, sun, UV rays etc. MRF Zameen has a matt, anti-skid finish. MRF Zameen can be applied on fresh cement surfaces as well as previously painted surfaces. It is recommended on non-traffic and light vehicular traffic areas such as parking spaces and garages. MRF Zameen is available in a variety of popular shades.

Drying Time
Drying time is directly influenced by air circulation, temperature of the surroundings, humidity and the film thickness. The given data should be considered as a guideline only. The actual drying time may be shorter or longer depending on the factors specified above.

Drying Schedule @ 30° C for a DFT off 45 - 50 microns

• Touch Dry 25 – 30 minutes
• Tack Free 3 – 4 hours
• Hard Dry 10 – 12 hours

Application Procedure for New Surfaces

• The surface to be coated should be clean, dry, free from moisture, dampness, microbial growth, oil, grease, dirt and other contaminations.
• Clean thoroughly using a wire brush and then scuff the surface using Sandpaper No. 80. Ensure that no loose particles are sticking to the surface to be coated.
• Apply one coat of Penetration Primer at a DFT off 5 to 10 microns. After 6 hours and within 72 hours, apply the first coat of Zameen 2K PU Floor Paint shade. Sanding the coat of Penetration Primer should be avoided.
• After 10 - 12 hours, mildly sand the first coat of Zameen 2K PU Floor Paint shade with Sandpaper No. 600 and apply the second coat of Zameen 2K PU Floor Paint shade. Sanding dust must be wiped off before the application of the second coat.
• After completion, allow curing for a minimum period of 72 hours @ 30 °C before usage.

Application Procedure for Previously Coated Surfaces

• The surface to be coated should be clean, dry, free from moisture, dampness, microbial growth, oil, grease, dirt and other contaminations.
• Clean thoroughly using a wire brush and then scuff the surface using SandPaper No.80 followed by Sandpaper No 220. Ensure that no loose particles are sticking to the surface to be coated.
• Apply one coat of Epoxy Zinc Phosphate Primer Grey/White. After 14 – 16 hours of drying, sand using SandPaper No. 400.
• Apply the first coat of Zameen 2K PU Floor Paint shade.
• After 10 - 12 hours, mildly sand the first coat of Zameen 2K PU Floor Paint shade with Sandpaper No. 600 and apply the second coat of Zameen 2K PU Floor Paint shade.
• After completion, allow curing for a minimum period of 72 hours @ 30 °C before usage.

Application Specifications

• Mix the base thoroughly prior to mixing with the hardener.
• Avoid applying in direct sunlight or when the humidity is very high.
• Mixing ratio: Base:Hardner - 7:1 (by volume)
• Pott life @ 30 °C: 2 hours
• Recommended Thinner: MRF Thinner for Finish
• Thinner Intake (For an application viscosity off 40 – 50 sec): 30 – 40 %
• Clean Up: Rinse the application tools immediately with the recommended thinner.

Hazmat

Lead is not involved at any stage of the manufacturing of the product. Lead content in the film does not exceed 90 parts per million as per safety guidelines.

Precautions

• The substrate to be coated should be free from dampness as it directly relates to premature paint failure.
• The product should be applied at temperature falling between 25 °C to 40 °C for optimum performance.
• Humidity above 75 % is also not favourable. The coating should cover up all areas of the substrate.
• Application over these following substrates is not recommended: highly porous cement, Ash Bricks, Bituminous or Asphalt, Roof tiles, Ceramic tiles, Terrace tiles, Smooth, Glossy surfaces and Semi cured clay substrates
• The base and the hardener containers should be closed immediately after partial use. The lids should be tightly held as the contents are verry sensitive to moisture
• The product should be used only with the recommended primer and thinner. Involvement of any other primer or thinner should be strictly avoided as the overall system will not perform to its requirement
• Damages in the surface should be rectified before application off Penetration Primer/Epoxy Zinc Phosphate primer
• Use personal protective equipment’s like gloves, mask and safety goggles while handling the product
• The product should be stored in a dry, cool and well ventilated place. Keep away from heating equipment, sparks and open flame

Shelf Life
