Dr. Fixit Sureseal is a single component, specially designed waterproof protective coating that prevents damp patches on Internal & External walls & roofs. When cured, it forms a breathable, very tough yet elastic film which develops a strong bond to damp surfaces and does not allow water to leak through. Methods of Application
SURFACE PREPARATION
- Wash the surface thoroughly using water and a strong brush. Remove all loosely bound sand particles, neroo or instant lime, POP, black spots, fungus, moss on moisture captured walls and any poorly adhering painted surface.
- If the surface under the existing paint is weak, it should be stripped, and removed.
- Entire surface should be in a saturated surface dry (SSD) condition prior to the application of Dr. Fixit Sureseal.
- Non-structural hairline cracks less than 1mm should be cleaned and free of dust. Apply or pour Dr. Fixit Sureseal on to the cracks and wait for it to dry.
- Cracks > 1mm and < 5mm should be filled with a Dr. Fixit Crack-X Paste and allowed to cure.
- If the existing plaster is in very poor condition, repair the concerned area from the positive side to stop the source of dampness.
- For repairs of plaster, brush apply a single coat of Dr. Fixit Pidicrete URP over the clean surface as a bond coat in the ratio of 1:1 (URP: Cement) by volume. To repair the surface, prepare a polymer modified mortar in the ratio Dr. Fixit Pidicrete URP : Cement : Water - 1 : 3 : 2 by weight. Apply this mortar when the bond coat of Dr. Fixit Pidicrete URP is in a tacky condition.
EXTERIOR WALL APPLICATION
- Apply two coats of Dr. Fixit Sureseal without any dilution, maintaining the spreading rate of 4 to 5 Sq.mtrs/kg/coat. Allow the first coat to cure for 4 hours before applying the second and final coat.
- Allow the coating to air cure for 2 days.
ROOF APPLICATION
- Apply two coats of Dr. Fixit Sureseal without any dilution maintaining the spreading rate of 4 to 5 Sq.mtrs/kg/coat. Allow the first coat to cure for 4 hours before applying the second and final coat.
- Allow the coating to air cure for 2 days.
INTERNAL DAMPNESS
- Thoroughly wire brush the surface, followed by sanding with emery paper before application of Dr. Fixit Sureseal.
- Apply two coats of Dr. Fixit Sureseal without any dilution maintaining the spreading rate of 4 to 5 Sq.mtrs/kg/coat. Allow the first coat to cure for 4 hours before applying the second and final coat.
- Allow the coating to air cure for 2 days before proceeding for internal painting.
Precautions & Limitations
- Do not dilute “Dr. Fixit Sureseal”.
- All corners, gaps, joints, protrusions & outlets shall be coated with extra coat.
- Always cover an area larger than the affected area (minimum 2 Sft for internal walls & 5 Sft on either side for external walls and Roof).
