SmartCare Outer Corner Joint Tape - 4pcs

Joints in construction such as parapet wall-roof slab joints and corners develop cracks due to different coefficients of expansion of the roof slab and the masonry wall. Due to changes in weather conditions, there is constant movement at the joints due to the difference in expansion of roof slabs and masonry walls. This movement causes craking at the joints and in coatings applied over the joints. A flexible and durable solution is thus required at the joint to cover the cracks and prevent ingress of water.

SmartCare roof outer corner joint tape is one such solution that provides a flexible and tough corner joint waterproofing solution. The tape is made of high quality materials keeping both flexibility and durability in mind. The tape has a flexible center made of high quality rubber that is permanently flexible. The rubber is bonded with high quality geotextile fiber cloth on either side to provide a surface that bonds strongly with SmartCare Damproof when embedded in it.

Application Procedure

• Clean the surface to be treated to make it free of dirt, grease and loose particles using a wire brush or a pressure washer.
• Saturate the surface with water and ensure there is no standing water to get a saturated surface dry (SSD) condtion.
• Apply a coat of Smartcare Damp Proof diluted with water in the ration 3:1 (by volume) at the joint. Allow to dry for 4-6 hours.
• Once dry, apply a second coat of SmartCare Damp Proof in undiluted condition.
• Press the outer corner joint tape into the wet coat of SmartCare Damp Proof such that the rubber core is aligned at the joint and the corner.
• Allow to dry for 4-6 hours.
• Apply a third coat of SmartCare Damp Proof in undiluted condition over the tape to cover and embed it completely.
